Wear Yellow – Wednesday 10 October 2018 – YoungMinds Charity
YoungMinds is the UK’s leading children’s mental health charity committed to improving the mental health and emotional well-being of children and empowering their parents and carers. (www.youngminds.org.uk). More children and young people than ever before are seeking help with their mental health, but fewer than one in ten find it easy to get the support they need.
YoungMinds calls on schools to say #HelloYellow on World Mental Health Day .The charity YoungMinds is calling on schools across the country to take part in #HelloYellow on World Mental Health Day (10th October) to show young people they’re not alone with their mental health.
As a school, we would like to be part of this campaign on Wednesday 10th October 2018.
As part of the day, thousands of children and young people will wear something yellow to spread the word that, whatever they are going through, they can talk to someone if they’re struggling to cope.
YoungMinds is also hoping to inspire more than 10,000 mental health messages on the day, which will take the form of drawings, advice or inspirational quotes, and to raise thousands of pounds to support its work.
We would like everyone in this school to wear one item of something yellow to accessorise their school uniform on World Mental Health Day, whether it’s a scarf, hat or bow tie we want to see your colourful costumes!
We will post our photos on social media with the #HelloYellow hashtag to show our support.
We ask that pupils make a small monetary contribution which we will donate to the charity so that they can continue with their excellent work.
Thanks in anticipation of your support.
