Trinity Fields/ Disability Sport Caerphilly Touch Rugby Tournament

As tradition dictates, just before the Easter break, the SRB at St. Cenydd, along with special schools from all across South and Mid Wales, proudly took part in the Trinity Fields/ Disability Sport Caerphilly Touch Rugby Tournament. Had it not been for the COVID lockdowns, this year would have been the 20th year that the event had been held and St. Cenydd has been involved since the beginning.

Eight pupils from Years 7 and 8 represented the school at the Centre of Sporting Excellence in Ystrad Mynach. The children fine tuned their skills before lunch under the expert guidance of the Welsh Rugby Union's coaching staff and then took part in a fun filled touch rugby tournament where the emphasis is always on enjoying the day, making new friends and having fun.

We were also treated to some quality time with the entire squad of the Newport Gwent Dragons who, following their training session, came over to pose for photographs, share some rugby tips and sign some autographs.
