On the 29th of March, twenty-nine Year 10 geography students were selected to take part in an amazing opportunity provided by Tetra Tech - a consultant and engineering firm. Students worked with a geologist, an ecologist and an archaeologist, to decide whether a wind farm should be built on Caerphilly Mountain or not.  In this decision-making workshop, they got to investigate all the advantages and constraints provided by the area and whether it would be a viable option to produce enough green electricity for Caerphilly. They worked on mapping exercises in teams and consulted different stakeholders to debate and decide on the outcome. They also had some valuable career education and learnt about the jobs involved and the routes that the presenters took in order to follow their career choices. We also linked this to the growing "green jobs" market in relation to the UK aiming to produce net zero Carbon by 2050.
