Before October Half term all pupils in years 7, 8 and 9 were given the opportunity to select a free book. Each year group was given a list of 20 books from which they could select. A range of genres, formats and lengths were offered so that there was a book for everybody! 

Over the run up to half term pupils could discuss their possible choice with their tutors in tutor time. Here they looked at the covers, read the blurb and narrowed their options down. 

Around 550 individual book choices were then ordered. These were delivered to year groups in Head of Year assemblies. It was lovely to see pupils receiving and then reading their own books at the start of lessons.
