In September year 11 hit the ground running with a public speaking day workshop from Talk the Talk. 

Pupils worked in their tutor groups to construct a speech that they built towards at the end of the day. They learnt about techniques they could use to engage their audience as well as how to present themselves in a confident manner. 

Many pupils who felt nervous at the start of the day presented their speech to their peers by the end. Some walked away saying how glad they were to have pushed themselves to take part. 

This directly links to their English Language GCSE however, the skills they developed across the day can be used in any future career they embark on.
