In October we welcomed Voices Theatre Company to present their touring production of ‘Kindness.’ A short 1 hour play about the Holocaust. 

All of year 10 were able to benefit from both the production and a question and answer session with the director. Pupils were able to directly ask questions about the Holocaust, the creation of the production and the careers of the actors and technicians they had witnessed.  

Pupils asked questions in a mature and thoughtful way. Pupils benefited from this event in many different ways, be it from a theatrical aspect or through engagement in the history or religious aspects of the performance. 

GCSE Drama alongside some eager year 9s also attended a drama workshop which taught them how to explore such traumatic events in a creative way without causing offence to a person’s lived experience.
