Dear Year 6 Parents and Carers,
We are looking forward to welcoming your child to St Cenydd School. I wanted to take this opportunity to introduce myself and to outline our Y6 transition events this term. We are planning for our transition activities to be as close to ‘normal’ as possible. We are looking forward to meeting your child and welcoming you to our school.
We will begin our transition activities in the next few weeks by visiting each of our cluster primary schools to meet our new pupils. I, along with other pastoral staff from St Cenydd, will meet your child's class and talk through what to expect over the coming months. There will be an opportunity for your child and their classmates to ask questions of us and to find out more about our school. This will be followed in the second half of the summer term with at least one opportunity for your child to visit our school and to spend time with some of their new teachers, meet their form tutor, and to spend time with other new pupils making friends. Our transition activities are planned to help make the move to secondary school as smooth as possible for your child and for you. We work closely with your child’s primary school to help make this so.
You can find out more about our school on our school website and we will shortly have a transition page there (www.stcenyddcommunityschool.co.uk) where you will find upcoming events and information. We will be in contact with you regarding transition information and other events. To that end, and to ensure that we have up to date records, we would be grateful if you could please complete the attached admission form and return it to us by Friday 13 May 2022.
For your information, your main contacts here at St Cenydd School for this years transition will primarily be:
Mr Lee Dickinson - Assistant Headteacher (overseeing KS3 including transition)
Mrs Hannah Evans - ALNCO (Additional Learning Needs Coordinator)
Mrs Tara Frost - Nurture and Support for Year 7 pupils
If you have any specific questions regarding the transition process, please do not hesitate to get in touch with Mrs Evans, Mrs Frost or me by sending an email to the following address year6@stcenydd.co.uk and we will get in contact with you to answer any queries.
We are very much looking forward to meeting your child and welcoming them to our school.
Yours sincerely,
Mr Lee Dickinson
Assistant Headteacher
