Dear Parents and Carers
Further to my letter yesterday, we have unfortunately been notified of a positive case of Covid-19.
A second Y10 pupil has tested positive for coronavirus and we therefore need to follow strict public health protocols to ensure the health and wellbeing of the whole school community.
Isolation dates are calculated on when the positive case was last in school i.e. Tuesday this week. Therefore the isolation period for Year 10 pupils who are currently self-isolating is recalculated based on this contact.
As a result, all pupils in Year 10 must isolate at home for 10 days since the positive case was last in school. This means that all pupils in Year 10 must isolate at home up to and including Friday 18 December 2020. This means that they must not leave their home for the duration of this isolation period.
This means that all pupils in Year 10 will return to school after the Christmas break.
Current public health advice states that other members of your household do not need to self-isolate. You should, however, be particularly vigilant about your child’s health and if they display any coronavirus symptoms, you should ensure that they are tested as soon as possible.
I know that this will cause concern and this is completely understandable. However, I want to reassure you that all appropriate risk assessments and safety measures are in place throughout the school. These are being strictly followed to protect all pupils and staff and to limit the risk of any cross-contamination.
Yours sincerely
Miss Collins
