Dear Parents and Carers
Unfortunately, I have been notified this morning of a positive case of Covid-19.
A pupil has tested positive for coronavirus and we therefore need to follow strict public health protocols to ensure the health and wellbeing of the whole school community.
As a result, all pupils in Year 10 must isolate at home for 14 days since the positive case was last in school. This means that all pupils in Year 10 must isolate at home up to and including Friday 18 December 2020. This means that they must not leave their home for the duration of this isolation period.
This means that all pupils in Year 10 will return to school after the Christmas break.
Current public health advice states that other members of your household do not need to self-isolate. You should, however, be particularly vigilant about your child’s health and if they display any coronavirus symptoms, you should ensure that they are tested as soon as possible.
Home schooling will, of course, be provided for Year 10 up to and including Thursday 17 December 2020. These details will be shared on Google classroom by their class teacher from tomorrow onwards. We may also use your child’s school email account and the school website to share details of the work they should complete. Mr Corke (Head of Year 10) and Miss Stewart (Pupil Support Manager) can confirm these arrangements for any child who is unsure of how to log onto their accounts.
I know that this will cause concern and this is completely understandable. However, I want to reassure you that all appropriate risk assessments and safety measures are in place throughout the school. These are being strictly followed to protect all pupils and staff and to limit the risk of any cross-contamination.
Thank you to Y10 parents for collecting their child so promptly this morning from school.
Yours sincerely
Miss Collins
Head Teacher
