Dear Parents and Carers
Unfortunately, I have been notified this afternoon of a positive case of Covid-19.
A pupil has tested positive for coronavirus and we therefore need to follow strict public health protocols to ensure the health and wellbeing of the whole school community.
As a result, all pupils in Year 12 must isolate at home for 14 days since the positive case was last in school. This means that all pupils in Year 12 must isolate at home up to and including Tuesday 15 December 2020. This means that they must not leave their home for the duration of this isolation period.
This means that all pupils in Year 12 will return to school on Wednesday 16 December 2020.
Current public health advice states that other members of your household do not need to self-isolate. You should, however, be particularly vigilant about your child’s health and if they display any coronavirus symptoms, you should ensure that they are tested as soon as possible.
Home schooling will, of course, be provided for Year 12 for the next two weeks. These details will be shared on Google classroom by their class teacher from tomorrow onwards. We may also use your child’s school email account and the school website to share details of the work they should complete over the next two weeks. Mr Jones (Head of Year 12 and 13) will confirm these arrangements tomorrow for any child who is unsure of how to log onto their accounts.
I know that this will cause concern and this is completely understandable. However, I want to reassure you that all appropriate risk assessments and safety measures are in place throughout the school. These are being strictly followed to protect all pupils and staff and to limit the risk of any cross-contamination.
Yours sincerely
Miss Collins
