Dear Parents and Carers
Unfortunately, I have been notified this evening of a second positive case of Covid-19 this weekend.
A pupil has tested positive for coronavirus and we therefore need to follow strict public health protocols to ensure the health and wellbeing of the whole school community.
As a result, all pupils in Year 12 must isolate at home for 14 days since the positive case was last in school. This means that all pupils in Year 12 must isolate at home up to and including Wednesday 4 November 2020. This means that they must not leave their home for the duration of this isolation period.
Year 12 pupils are learning at home in the week beginning 2 November 2020 as per Welsh government lockdown direction so this period of isolation will not affect their return to school on Monday 9 November 2020.
Current public health advice states that other members of your household do not need to self-isolate. You should, however, be particularly vigilant about your child’s health and if they display any coronavirus symptoms, you should ensure that they are tested as soon as possible.
I know that this will cause concern and this is completely understandable. However, I want to reassure you that all appropriate risk assessments and safety measures are in place throughout the school. These are being strictly followed to protect all pupils and staff and to limit the risk of any cross-contamination.
Yours sincerely
Miss Collins
