Dear Parents and Carers
We hope that this email finds you and your families well. It certainly has been a very short term in terms of weeks, however, behind the scenes a great deal has been achieved and plans are now being finalised for the transition process of your child to St Cenydd School.
There will be many mixed emotions for you and your child over the coming term and you will have many questions that you would like answered. It is our aim to provide an informative, yet not over burdening, transition period that will build confidence and help you get to know St Cenydd School.
Each week, from now until the end of July, you and your child will have communication from the school to help prepare for the move to St Cenydd. Along the way you will be introduced to key staff as well as get to meet some of our fantastic current pupils.
This week Miss Steer takes you on a short tour of the school and will direct you to the important areas for new Year 7 Pupils (Click here - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IRRbmszAHaw) Once you have watched the tour, we would be very appreciative if you and your child could complete the following google form so that we can hear some of your child’s questions for the school, as well as what they are looking forward to when they join St Cenydd- https://forms.gle/1aLcBJZYqRfVaCZV9. After half term we will answer as many of these questions as possible via video messages from different members of the school community.
Remember, if you have any comments, questions or suggestions please continue to use the Year 6 transition email address to make contact with either Mr Dickinson (Assistant Headteacher KS3) or Miss Steer (Head of Year 7):
year6@stcenydd.co.uk
All of the weekly activities and messages will be emailed directly to you over the next half term, but will also be available found via the Transition link on the St Cenydd School webpage - https://www.stcenyddcommunityschool.co.uk/2020transition
This page will be populated on a weekly basis and will be a good reference point for you and your child.
After half term, Miss Collins (Headteacher) and Mr Dickinson will be writing to you all as we begin the more formal aspect of transition and welcoming you to our school.
Until then, we hope that you enjoy the tour and that you and your families have a relaxing half term break.
Kind regards
Mr Dickinson and Miss Steer
