Dear Parent/Carer,
Re: Every Day in May Attendance
At St Cenydd, school attendance is one of our top priorities. Every child should be in school every day as far as possible, so they have access to every learning opportunity available to them at the school. Excellent individual attendance is fundamental to their success at school.
During this half term, we are having an attendance reward scheme called ‘Every day in May’. Between 1st and 25th May, we would like every pupil to be present at school. If you have made medical or dental appointments during this period, we kindly ask that you make every effort to rearrange these if possible. If not, please ensure that your child only misses the minimum amount of time and not a whole morning or afternoon.
Every day throughout May each pupil in school will be entered into daily opportunities to win prizes. At the end of May, pupils who have attained 100% throughout the whole month will be entered into a final raffle to win prizes ranging from shopping vouchers to free tickets for the end of year reward trips. As well as this raffle, 100% attendance certificates will also be given out to pupils each half term. As you know, your child should be in school every day, but we would appreciate your support in encouraging every effort to attain 100% attendance in the lead up to the May half term break.
During May our Attendance Officers will continue to monitor at the school entrance for pupils who arrive late to school. Any pupil who arrives after 8.35am will be given an automatic break time detention and may not be entered into the prize draws.
We appreciate your continuing support in helping your child achieve 100% attendance. If you wish to discuss any attendance related issues, please do not hesitate to contact me or our Attendance Officer Team: Mrs Mordey-Jones, Mrs Williams or Mrs Matthews.
Thank you for your support.
