Dear Parents and Carers of prospective St Cenydd pupils
We hope you had a relaxing half term break and enjoyed the Jubilee celebrations. As we start the second half of the summer term, we wish to update you regarding our transition plans for your son/daughter as they prepare to join us in September. It is our aim to provide an informative, yet not over burdening, transition period that will build confidence and help your child get to know St Cenydd School.
As you will be aware, through conversations with your child and school, our transition team have visited our local feeder primary schools to introduce themselves in person to our new pupils. Your child may already have met Mr Dickinson (Assistant Headteacher KS3), Mrs Hannah Evans (ALNCO), Ms Tara Bolton (our Nurture Manager) and Mrs Buswell (Head of Year 7). Our team have very much enjoyed meeting the pupils and answering the questions they have about St Cenydd School. It has been lovely to finally have face to face visits.
Our main transition events over the coming weeks will be:
Wednesday 6 July at 6pm - Y6 Parents evening at St Cenydd School in our Main Hall. There will be a series of presentations, an opportunity for you to meet staff and current pupils, and for us to answer any questions you may have.
Thursday 7 July - all of our new Y6 pupils will spend the day at St Cenydd, experiencing lessons, an assembly, and meeting their form tutor.
Please make a note of these dates in your diaries. Mr Dickinson will write to you with further details in due course.
We will also be providing pupils with a paper copy of a transition booklet that they can work through in their schools in readiness for September. This booklet, along with other transition information, will be available on the St Cenydd school website shortly.
Please do not hesitate to be in contact with us if you have any questions. If you have any comments, questions or suggestions please use the dedicated Year 6 transition email address to make contact with either Mr Dickinson (Assistant Headteacher KS3), Mrs Buswell (Head of Year 7) or Ms Bolton (Assistant Head of Year 7): year6@stcenydd.co.uk
We very much look forward to meeting you and your child, and welcoming you to St Cenydd.
Yours sincerely
Miss Rebecca V. Collins Mr Lee Dickinson
