Dear Parents and Carers
Following on from my letter yesterday, we remain in a similar position due to staff shortages. I am sorry that this will unavoidably impact on staff availability for the planned Y7 Parents Evening this afternoon.
Unfortunately we will not have sufficient staff to fully open the school site tomorrow. Therefore, Year 9 will learn from home on Wednesday 26 January 2022. At this stage, all other year groups should attend school as normal. This is subject to change should we face further staff availability pressures and I will contact you as soon as possible with such arrangements should they be required tomorrow or later this week.
Y9 pupils will access pre-planned work by our department staff tomorrow. Remote learning work will be sent to pupil school Gmail accounts and will also be posted on year group Google Classrooms. They will access a St Cenydd Google site where they will find video lessons from teachers in our school for every subject. Although a workbook is provided, pupils should complete their work in their exercise books, on Google Docs, or on paper.
Please be advised secondary schools no longer send ‘warn and inform’ letters to parents. Please therefore be extra vigilant for symptoms and please continue to support our school by ensuring that your child
- undertakes lateral flow tests three times a week
- has the vaccination / boosters
- wears a face covering indoors on school site
