Dear All
I hope that this end of term letter finds you and your family well. Please find below information about the end of this term and the start of next term.
Remote learning
Following on from my letter yesterday, unfortunately we remain in a similar position due to staff shortages. Therefore we will not be able to fully open tomorrow, Thursday 16 December 2021. Year 8 will learn from home tomorrow, accessing pre planned work by our departmental staff. This means that Y8 pupils should remain at home tomorrow, completing the work they have been set, and not attend the school site. All other year groups should attend school as normal. We continue to do all we can to maintain onsite learning. I am sorry that tomorrow we are not able to do so.
The work for Y8 pupils to complete tomorrow will be sent to their school Gmail account and will also be posted on the Y8 google classroom in the morning. Y8 pupils will access a St Cenydd Google site where they will find video lessons from teachers in our school for every subject. They should complete the video lessons for the subjects they would normally have tomorrow as per their timetable. Although a workbook is provided, pupils should complete their work in their exercise books, on Google Docs, or on paper.
End of term - Thursday 16 December
We have our annual Christmas Jumper Day, raising money for the Aber Foodbank. Many pupils across our school have also been participating in a Reverse Advent Calendar throughout December, bringing in donations for the Aber Foodbank. Our sixth formers will be delivering these fantastic donations from across the school tomorrow. Thank you for helping us support this important local charity.
Lesson 5 will be a form tutor lesson and will include watching the Staff Panto. We will not be able to share this recording with those learning at home, and will make arrangements for the year group working at home to see it early in the next term.
Term ends at 1455.
INSET day - Friday 17 December
Spring term begins - Tuesday 4 January 2022
Thank you for your support and kindness throughout this term. It is very much appreciated.
I wish you and your family a safe and joyful festive break.
With warmest wishes
Miss Collins
