Dear Parents and Carers
I hope that this letter finds you and your family well.
Following the national announcements about the new Covid variant, Omicron, I write to inform you of our updated risk assessment.
You may have seen on the news that the Education Minister, Jeremy Miles, has announced that all staff and pupils in secondary schools should now wear a face coverings while indoors including in classrooms, where physical distancing cannot be maintained. Thank you for your support in ensuring that your child brings a clean face covering to school with them each day.
There are some pupils and staff in our school who are exempt from wearing face coverings, and we will continue to support them. ‘Hands, face, space, ventilate and vaccinate’ remain key mitigations against the spread of the virus.
The Education Minister has stated that this change to wearing face coverings in classrooms is a temporary, precautionary measure, and it will remain in place for the rest of this term, leading up to the Christmas holiday. I will of course update you as more information is shared with schools.
Thank you for your support in keeping all members of our school community safe.
Yours sincerely
Miss Collins
