Dear Parents and Carers
I have been notified by CCBC today that three pupils who collected their GCSE results on Thursday morning (12 August) tested positive for Covid-19 yesterday.
The Welsh Government rules following potential contact with a positive case have changed recently. As you will be aware, our GCSE results day was held outside, in line with current guidance, and pupils were on site for a short time to collect their results.
Therefore, please find below the following advice from CCBC:
- Contacts who are under 18, or adults who have had their second Covid vaccination for 14 days or longer, on the day of potential exposure (12/08/21) will not be required to self-isolate unless they develop any Covid-type symptoms.
- If your child develops symptoms they should self-isolate immediately and obtain a PCR test.
- PCR tests on day 2 and day 8 continue to be recommended for all contacts.
- Contacts of a positive case should avoid visiting anyone who may be clinically vulnerable for a period of 10 days from the date of potential exposure as a precautionary measure.
Yours sincerely
Miss Collins
