Dear Parents and Carers
It has been a busy and successful start to the new school year. Nearly all pupils have settled very quickly back into the routines and expectations of school life, and it has been lovely to welcome our new Year 7 pupils to St Cenydd.
We expect all to ‘Aspire and Achieve’ here at St Cenydd by making positive choices each day to be ‘Ready, Respectful, Safe’ i.e., ready to learn by arriving on time, with the necessary equipment and positively contributing to their learning; showing respect for themselves, others and their environment; and making safe choices, behaving well and in a sensible manner.
Pastoral Team: Across the school, Mr Harrison (Assistant Headteacher) oversees Pupil Behaviour and Wellbeing, and Mr Dickinson (Assistant Headteacher) oversees Safeguarding and Attendance. They are supported by our Heads of Year: Year 7 Mr Owen, Year 8 Mr Williams, Year 9 Mr Corke, Year 10 Mrs Barton, Year 11 Mrs Buswell, and Year 12/13 Mrs Croll.
Our Pupil Support Officer Team (Mrs Francies, Miss Harding, Mr Hopkins, Mrs Manship, and Mr Matthews) support pupils and the Heads of Year.
Our Ready to Learn Provision is led by Mrs Owen, and supported by Mrs Matthews.
Attendance: Our Attendance Officers are Miss Richards and Mrs Woodward. We monitor attendance closely, and all children should be in school on time every day. Improving attendance and punctuality remain a key focus for our school from the first day in September onwards. All pupils should be through the school gate when the first bell rings at 8.30am in readiness for the start of assemblies and form time at 8.25am.
Uniform: Please ensure that your child attends school in the correct school uniform every day.
Allergies: To protect pupils with severe, life-threatening allergies, we are now a nut-free school. Please ensure all packed lunches and snacks brought on site contain no nuts or nut products. Thank you for your support and cooperation in keeping all our pupils safe.
