Dear Y10, Y11, Y12 and Y13 students
Please find attached your provisional Centre Determined Grades (CDGs). Please note that these grades are provisional and that your final grades will be issued in August by the WJEC.
You may have studied for a qualification that is classed as vocational or not overseen by the WJEC. These qualifications are mainly taught in KS4 and include Entry Level, ASDAN, Additional Mathematics, Performing Arts, Home Cooking, Sport and Coaching Principles and Financial Maths. These are awarded through different awarding bodies who are not releasing provisional grades. The results for these qualifications will be published by the exam boards in August on results days. Therefore your results attached to these letter are for provisional grades for GCSE, AS, A Level and Skills Challenge only.
Your results days in the summer are either Tuesday 10 August 2021 for AS and A level or Thursday 12 August 2021 for GCSE. Although we cannot yet plan the arrangements for these days, we very much hope to be able to see you in person and to celebrate your achievements. We will be in touch before the day to let you know our final arrangements once we have the most up to date COVID advice from Welsh Government nearer the time.
If you have any queries about your provisional CDGs, please do not contact your teacher or staff at the school. We have set up a dedicated email account at school which you must use for CDG queries: cdg@stcenydd.co.uk. You should do this via your school Gmail account. As these are your results, any queries should come from you.
If you believe there has been an error with one of your CDGs, please go to the ‘CDG 2021’ page on our school website where you will find information about reviews and appeals. Please read this carefully. If you wish to request a Stage 1 Centre Review or need additional advice, please email cdg@stcenydd.co.uk from your school Gmail account. Please note that your grade could go down, up or remain the same in a Stage 1 Centre Review. Please also note that you cannot request a Stage 2 Appeal without a Stage 1 Centre Review. The deadline to request a LDR is midday on Thursday 24 June and the deadline for a Stage 1 Centre Review completed request forms is midday on Thursday 1 July 2021.
Please remember that advice and guidance about your next steps in September is available from Mr Jones, Head of Year 12 and 13, and Miss Downey, our Careers Wales Advisor. If you have any queries regarding joining our Sixth Form or with the UCAS process (Y13) please contact Mr Jones. You will have received an email from Miss Downey to your school email account. You can also access Careers advice at https://careerswales.gov.wales or by telephoning 0800.028.4844.
I would like to take this opportunity to wish you all the very best for the summer ahead and very much hope to see you in August for your official results days.
With best wishes
Miss Rebecca V. Collins
