Dear Parent/Carer
It has been a pleasure to welcome our pupils back to school for the new academic year. Since returning from the summer break, it has been wonderful to see so many of your children engaging fully with their learning across all areas of the curriculum. Their energy and enthusiasm have set a pleasing standard for the term ahead and I want to thank you for your ongoing support which enables this positive and focused start to happen.
Our staff have been able to celebrate this positive start, awarding over 42,000 positive points across the school. It is pleasing that 96% of all points awarded were given for positive work and attitude in lessons.
If you need any help accessing your child’s ClassCharts record to see these achievements, please do not hesitate to contact our pastoral team by phone or email. They will be happy to assist you.
We are continuing our focus on creating a positive culture around behaviour and our rewards store on ClassCharts has recently reopened. The store allows pupils to spend their positive ClassCharts points on a variety of rewards. They can purchase different items and enter prize draws, with options ranging from confectionery and stationery to fantastic opportunities such as entering draws to win high-street vouchers, tickets to international rugby and football matches and Cardiff City games, gym memberships and spa treatments.
We have recently added a new alert on ClassCharts that automatically sends you a notification when your child accesses the toilets multiple times during lesson time. While we know that emergencies can and do happen, we want to ensure your child has every opportunity to engage in their lessons and avoid frequent absences from the classroom. We would appreciate your continued support in encouraging your child to use the facilities in their break and lunchtimes.
Before the summer holidays, we contacted you about the new grey quarter-zip jumper. This has proven to be a very popular item and our uniform provider has now replenished their stock in all sizes.
With autumn now here and the weather getting colder, please ensure your child has a grey cover with them when they come to school. This can be the new quarter-zip, the grey school v-neck jumper, the grey school cardigan, the school tank top, or the school blazer.
We understand pupils want to wear an extra layer and / or coat over their grey cover, but this must be removed once they enter the classroom and must not be worn instead of their grey item. Our focus on uniform will continue throughout the year, and we appreciate your support in ensuring your child is dressed appropriately to maintain our expected standards.
Thank you once again for supporting the school in driving forward high standards for your child. If you have any questions about this letter, please do not hesitate to contact the pastoral team at the school.
Yours sincerely

Mr A Harrison
