Dear Parent / Guardian
I am very pleased to inform you that Year 11 will celebrate the end of their formal education by attending the 'St Cenydd Summer Ball ' at the Vale Hotel on Thursday 7 July 2022.
The cost of the ticket is £45.00 which includes a hot and cold buffet, a disco and transport to and from the venue and a photographer. Please note that pupils must travel on the arranged transport from school to gain entry to the Ball. Pupils will be returned to school by 11.30 pm and will need to be collected promptly.
All pupils have been issued with a "Ball Passport." To gain entry to the Ball each pupil must obtain 15 Gold Stars for excellent effort, work or personal skills and attend a minimum of 15 revision sessions, together with the completion of their Welsh Bac, signed by Mr P Sass. They must also have the passport signed by Mr N Corke, Head of Year 11, myself and finally by Miss Collins, our Headteacher. We will consider attendance, punctuality, behaviour, uniform and effort when signing the passport. Successful completion of the Passport is the ticket to the Ball!
I would like to stress that parents are not expected to go to great expense to purchase formal evening wear. It is acceptable to wear smart trousers, a shirt and tie or a smart dress. However, I must point out that purchase of clothing prior to the Ball does not guarantee that pupils will automatically attend as they must comply with the requirements of the Ball Passport.
If you would like to pay for the ticket in instalments we would gladly accept £10 per month with the balance to be paid by Thursday 9 June 2022. Any monies should be paid directly to the Headteacher's PA, Mrs Kay Richards, either before school or during morning break. In the event of your son / daughter failing to meet the requirements of the Ball Passport the monies will be refunded.
It is our hope and intention that every pupil who wishes to attend the Ball does so. I ask for your support to ensure that your son / daughter works hard in the coming months to fulfil his / her potential and gain the best qualifications possible this summer.
If you have any queries regarding the Summer Ball please do not hesitate to contact me.
Yours sincerely
Mr A Harrison
Head of KS4
