Aspire & Achieve

In the 21st century, it is important that our students are prepared for a constantly evolving digital world. The department is committed to encouraging students to develop skills that focus on creativity and computational thinking.

At key stage 3 the curriculum encourages students to develop skills that focus on creativity using industry standard software. Students are also encouraged to develop thinking and logic skills using Lego Robots. At key stage 4 students have the opportunity to study ICT following the Edexcel CiDA qualification which focuses on creativity using web authoring and multimedia software, or Computer Science following the WJEC qualification where students are able to demonstrate their programming and problem solving skills. At key stage 5 pupils follow the WJEC Applied ICT A Level as it develops skills that are essential in the workplace and provides a highly contemporary experience in ICT and computer programming.
