Aspire & Achieve

On Friday 25th October, the Home Economics department organised a Coffee Morning and Bake Sale, to raise money for the Alzheimer's Society. They chose this charity, as one of their very dear colleagues was diagnosed with this illness last year.

Pupils in Years 8, 9 and 10 were busy baking during the week, to create an array of delicious cakes. Glanmor's Bakery in Caerphilly kindly donated cake boxes and bags, so that we could offer a takeaway option.

On Friday morning, the kitchen was a hive of activity, with Year 10 GCSE students and Home Economics staff decorating cakes, making sausage rolls and making up the takeaway boxes pre-ordered by staff.

At break-time staff enjoyed a cuppa and a cake and bought more cakes to take home. Thanks to the huge generosity of staff, the total raised for the Alzheimer's Society is £350. If you would like more information, visit https://www.alzheimers.org.uk/
