A group of Year 8 pupils were lucky to be invited to experience the first 3D ceramic printer in Wales this week! We had the opportunity to understand 3D printing has developed and is now used to create housing for places that have suffered natural disasters, to witness how design, creativity and technology produce prosthetic limbs for people across and in particular The Daniel Project in Sudan.
Our experience allowed us to see how ceramic hand and machine techniques differ through detail, speed and refinement. It was such a great afternoon to see how our classroom knowledge is actually used in industry!
