The Times Tables Rock Stars event returned with a bang this year. A roaring rock star applause to the contestants who took part in the St Cenydd Times Tables Rock Stars Battle of the Bands 2019.  Year 6 pupils from Cwm Ifor joined us here at St Cenydd to battle it out against Cwm Aber. Here’s the lowdown of the hard-core maths that rumbled top corridor:

Round 1: The Arenas
The teams honed their skills and got into the swing of it in Lolapalooza and Diggodome.

Round 2: The Festivals
Cwm Aber was off to a rockin’ start and taking advantage of Cwm Ifor being 2 Rock Stars down, they clinched the lead in this early stage of the Battle.

Round 3: The Rock off
A deadly competitive round of dancing and outrageous singing ending in a huge victory for Cwm Ifor.

Round 4: The Semi-finals
The confidence and concentration was booming as pupils from both sides challenged each other to a one on one Rock Slam.  

Round 5: The Grand Finale
After some quick refreshments the pupils entered the final; a brain sweating, finger rocking 60 seconds of pure determination. Even the biggest come back in Times Table Rock Star history wasn’t quite enough to catch up with Cwm Aber… the Champions of 2019.

Congratulations to Will and Dylan who scooped “Most valuable player” for their school. Our three highest scoring pupils were awarded the envious status of “Rock Hero”, “Rock Legend” and “Rock Star”. llongyfarchiadau i… Ella and Caden, Connor and Oscar and Luke and Khian.

Finally, a huge thank you to our More Able and Talented Year 9 pupils who lead the activities with exemplary skill and confidence. Quite simply…you rocked it!
