Aspire & Achieve

We were delighted to celebrate our trio of very successful Lead Creative Schools projects in partnership with the Arts Council for Wales earlier this term.  Our three projects have been diverse – firstly a digital geographical project for KS3 students called ‘Sourcing Senghenydd’ which explored the river from source to mouth, secondly a European funded Art project in Ludwigsburg co-creating with students from Germany and the Czech Republic as well as refugee students, and finally our latest project concentrated on story telling and led to the publication of a book of our students work called ‘Caerphilly Chronicles’ based on stories and creative work on Caerphilly Castle.  We were delighted that Mr Phil George, Chairman of the Art Council for Wales, attended the school to make presentations to the students involved in these projects.  In his address, Phil George explained that there are over 500 Lead Creative Schools in Wales, but that in his opinion, ‘no one does it better than St Cenydd!’
