Dear Parent / Carer
The spring term is always a busy time of year, not least as the older year groups prepare for their GCSE and A level examinations. Revision sessions, preparation sessions with Positively You, and the Y11 Prom Passport are underway. Over the coming weeks there will be further support for students such as 1-2-1 mentoring and advanced WJEC information as they prepare for these important examinations.
We currently have vacancies for Parent Governors on our Governing Body. Please find attached information about the role of a governor as well as a nomination form should you wish to stand. The deadline for nominations is 3 March 2023.
We have made additional appointments to our Attendance Team. Improving attendance of all students remains a key priority for our school. All students should aim to achieve 100% attendance. Most students are punctual to school, and their attendance is good. However, there are too many instances of poor attendance and punctuality.
For the remaining parents evening this year (Year 7, Year 11 and Sixth Form) we will return to face-to-face parents evenings on school site. Details of each evening will be sent to you nearer the time.
We have had several exciting opportunities for pupils so far this term, including a visit by Andrew Bailey, the Governor of the Bank of England. Information and photographs of many of these events or visits are on our school website, detailing the range of extracurricular opportunities for our pupils.
Thank you for your continued support in ensuring our high standards.
Yours sincerely
Miss Collins
