Dear Parents and Carers
Unfortunately, we have been notified this morning of a positive test of Covid-19 for a pupil in Year 9. We therefore need to follow strict public health protocols to ensure the health and wellbeing of the whole school community.
As a result, all pupils in Year 9 must isolate at home for 10 days since the positive case was last in school. This means that all pupils in Year 9 must isolate at home up to and including Friday 16 July. This means that they must not leave their home for the duration of this isolation period.
We have text Year 9 parents to inform them of this, and all Y9 children have been sent home or collected from school this morning.
Year 9 lessons will continue at home during this period of isolation as per their timetable from tomorrow, with lessons posted on Google classroom and via their school Gmail accounts.
Current public health advice states that other members of your household do not need to self-isolate. You should, however, be particularly vigilant about your child’s health and if they display any coronavirus symptoms, you should ensure that they are tested as soon as possible.
I know that this will cause concern and this is completely understandable. However, I want to reassure you that all appropriate risk assessments and safety measures are in place throughout the school. These are being strictly followed to protect all pupils and staff and to limit the risk of any cross-contamination.
Thank you to all parents of Y9 who have collected their child so promptly from school this morning. We very much appreciate your support.
Yours sincerely
Miss Collins
