Fifteen year 11 pupils went to the University of South Wales to take part in the Under 17 Maths Pop Quiz. The quiz was held in the new Students Union building with chocolates and drinks provided! The quiz uses everyday applications of mathematics to show how fun maths can be and that effective teamwork is a vital aspect of success.
 
Our pupils formed three teams of five to represent St. Cenydd, competing against over 200 other pupils from schools all over South and Mid Wales. The teams had to answer 16 challenging math’s problems in an allocated time. All teams did extremely well with one team sharing a score with the top third of schools.
